WE CANNOT POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT WILL MANIFEST IN OUR LIVES. WE LIVE AND HAVE EXPERIENCES AND LEAVE PEOPLE WE LOVE AND GET LEFT BY THEM. PEOPLE WE THOUGHT WOULD BE WITH US FOREVER AREN’T AND PEOPLE WE DIDN’T KNOW WOULD COME INTO OUR LIVES DO. OUR WORK HERE IS TO KEEP FAITH WITH THAT, TO PUT IT IN A BOX AND WAIT. TO TRUST THAT SOMEDAY WE WILL KNOW WHAT IT MEANS, SO THAT WHEN THE ORDINARY MIRACULOUS IS REVEALED TO US WE WILL BE THERE, GRATEFUL FOR THE SMALLEST THINGS.

Music Monday: Of Monsters and Men

The first time I've heard of Of Monsters and Men was last February, when they followed me on Twitter. Being my curious self, I checked their official website and I knew right away I'd come across something special.

Of Monsters and Men is a six piece indie folk/indie pop Icelandic band whose debut album My Head Is an Animal is full of love and joy. Just in time for Spring!
And if you like Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, you'll certainly enjoy listening to Of Monsters and Men. I know I do.

'Little Talks' - Of Monsters and Men

'Sloom' - Of Monsters and Men

'King and Lion heart' (Live from Music Hall of Williamsburg)

You can find more songs on Youtube, the album is not available yet on iTunes. Or you can also try Spotify or Soundcloud.

Love,
XO

Finals!

The person who invented pre-exam holidays is a total jerk, asshole, motherf$&#@er... I could carry on forever.

I mean you bum around all day long, perfectly knowing that you should study your ass off, but you still do nothing AT ALL. And the closer you get to Finals, the more guilty you feel about dating your Netflix.

And I swear this shit is worse to a Law student (aka me) than to any other fish in this vast sea called Higher Education.

I'll tell you why..
On my first day of Law School, I was walking around the campus like I owned the place —thinking I was in a live mix between Law and Order and Dirty Sexy Money. Come on, you know what I mean!
But I was quickly brought back to reality as I saw the amount of work required to become a Nick George or a Jack McCoy. Indeed, I had a huge amount of work facing me, and by huge I mean HUGE. What a disillusion!
The Meredith-Grey-to-be and other Ben Epstein already know that. It's not like THEIR whole world is falling apart.

Well, you can all see that I'm totally and completely aware of my situation, yet I continue procrastinating.
WAKE THE F UP DUDE!
Wait a sec.. Let me check my schedule.
Finals are in... 3 EFFING WEEKS!
I am officially in deep shit.

Note to self: Life is not a TV series.

Study hard,
XO

Spirit of the Child

"The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which mean never losing your enthusiasm."
-Aldous Huxley

Yesterday I received my first Charlie Daily Mail and I was so excited about it I've just stopped doing everything I was doing in order to read it. And it was so inspiring I've wanted to share with you Huxley's secret of genius, which has become mine too.

The "spirit of the child", the "enthusiasm", is to DARE TO DREAM. I think you tend to forget that - with age comes wisdom as they say, so you become more fearful about the consequences of your acts. The sparkle of madness fades away as you forget what is deep inside your heart.

Youth is madness. Madness is genius. And genius is Love.
So everybody is a genius, you just have to follow your heart.

Don't forget your youth growing old sweet angels.

You might need it along the way.

Love,
XO

P.S: YMandCharlie have chosen my article for today's Charlie Daily Mail. I'm so flattered!
P.P.S.: And they've posted my translation of Charles Baudelaire's poem. Check it out here.

THE VERY FIRST POST

So, after several frustrated attempts to create a decent blog during those past few years, here I am again! Wooo! Filling a long and sleepless night with starting this new web writing thing. Hope it will help me get rid off my sleep/wake cycle disorder...

Anyway, I don't really know what will come out of all the blogging I'm planning to do, BUT I'm pretty sure it will be better than any of my preteen/teen blogs (it HAS TO BE, or I'm seriously doomed!).

Well, this is exciting, isn't it? My first post on my not-so first blog. Guess I ought to take a picture of this unforgettable moment.

I'm gonna try to sleep a little now, it's 8.30 am and the sun is bright up in the sky. Damn it.

Love,
XO
